Black Diamond Structures will exhibit (Booth 50) and deliver a presentation regarding our latest product solutions for the Lead acid battery industry at the 15th European Lead Battery Conference, organized by the International Lead Association, in Valleta, Malta, September 13-16.
Dr. Paul Everill, principal research scientist for lead acid batteries, will discuss Black Diamond’s current and developing lead acid battery product series which is based on our proprietary technology, MOLECULAR REBAR. His presentation, entitled “Discreet Carbon Nanotubes for use in enhanced flooded batteries and other applications”, will provide details of our most recent test results.

Black Diamond Structures participated in its first industry exhibition in China, the China International Battery Fair (CIBF 2016), the single largest and most comprehensive battery exhibition in the world.
The focus of the Black Diamond exhibit was its innovative nanomaterial products and solutions for the energy storage industry. These products utilize a proprietary technology, MOLECULAR REBAR, which produces individual, high aspect ratio, clean, functionalized and open-ended multiwall carbon nanotubes. These unique tubes are dispersed in an aqueous solution for ease of use in any size of manufacturing process.

New Delhi, India – Black Diamond Structures participated as a Gold Sponsor in a workshop specifically devoted to innovations within the Lead Acid battery industry in India. The India Lead Zinc Development Association, popularly known as ILZDA, was founded in 1962 and is a non-profit non-commercial organization dedicated to market development and dissemination of technical information in respect of Lead, Zinc and their applications.
According to Dru Kefalos, Black Diamond’s Chief Marketing Officer, “ILZDA is one of the leading information and technical data support and recording organizations throughout the region and we are very pleased to help support their remarkable effort in this field”. The title of the BDS presentation is “MOLECULAR REBAR® discrete carbon nanotubes in Renewables & E-Vehicle Applications: Unlocking Longer Life
& Energy Savings”.
Black Diamond Structures presented recent data relating to its work in improving Lithium-ion batteries. The presentation was held at the NAATbatt annual meeting forum, Energy Storage Innovation Summit, in Indian Wells, California.
Dr. Jerzy Gazda, Black Diamond’s Technology Director, introduced product concentrates for binders based on the Black Diamond Structures’ MOLECULAR REBAR technology platform.
Dru Kefalos, Black Diamond’s Chief Marketing Officer, said the data provides remarkable evidence of the impact this product has for the lithium-ion industry. Commenting on the MOLECULAR REBAR technology, Kefalos stated, “There are a number of attributes relating to our technology for the energy storage industry and we are beginning customer trials in the lithium-ion market segment. There is considerable interest in our product and we are excited about the future in lithium-ion.”

High performance Lead Acid Battery solutions for the Indian market was the theme of two Black Diamond presentations and exhibit at one of the premier battery shows in India, the 11th International Battery, Solar and Lead recycling Exhibit and Seminar – POWER ON, January 7-10.
During the three day event, Black Diamond maintained an exhibit that graphically displayed the importance of its product and the technology platform, MOLECULAR REBAR® to the broad audience of battery manufacturers and suppliers attending the event.

Dr. Clive Bosnyak, Chief Scientific Officer for Molecular Rebar Design and Board director for Black Diamond Structures, presented some exciting new research revealing significant lithium-ion performance enhancements utilizing the company’s proprietary nanomaterial technology, Molecular Rebar®.
Bosnyak, who addressed attendees at The Battery Show 2015 in Novi, Michigan, commented that he and his team are advancing the science for nanomaterials, demonstrating improvements in the performance properties of both organic and inorganic binders and active materials, including polymer gel and solid electrolytes.
